Subject: Re: issue of combining the Monitor with UL alarms in same home

George:

Could you please reply to the question of is it OK for a homeowner to have just one Monitor in the home, and reply on UL listed ones elsewhere (i.e. distant bedroom areas)

Thanks

Yes, it is Okay; however, keep in mind that this “Issue” is ALWAYS a matter of “TIME”, …”CHOICE” & “MONEY”.
A home is FAR Safer with two or three Monitors than it is with ONE; however, it is FAR, FAR, SAFER with ONE MONITOR, … than it is with NONE  ! ! !

The “KEY” consideration in BOTH C O & FIRE Safety is “T… I… M… E”, ….. NEVER
FORGET, ….. NO DETECTOR in the World, …. MINE or ANYONE ELSE’S, can go into an ALARM MODE, ….. UNTIL WHATEVER IT WAS DESIGNED TO DETECT ….. REACHES THE DETECTOR. ….. The more Detectors you have, …. the SOONER you will be ALERTED of the impending DANGER.

While the NUMBER of detectors is NOT as CRITICAL in C O PROTECTION, … as it is in FIRE Protection, ….. IT IS A “HEALTH” Consideration for anyone that spends a LOT of TIME in an UN-PROTECTED AREA.
With C O , you don’t have to worry about “FLASH OVER”, … or having your “Escape Route” cut-off, … you DO subject yourself to the possibility of Mental Confusion and
Dis-orientation causing an “ESCAPE” Problem.

Best Regards, ……………….. George
