Furnace Inspection:  This 2-day workshop teaches you how to examine a combustion heating appliance to ensure that it is operating safely and efficiently.  Through hands-on training, you will gain a thorough understanding of combustion appliance operation and learn how to test for a cracked heat exchanger, CO production, backdrafting and other safety problems.  You will also learn how to identify and specify exact repairs to be made by a licensed contractor.   If you are a weatherization inspector, crew member, heating contractor, professional home inspector, or if you are involved in housing performance in any way, this training is designed for you. 

Weatherizing Mobile Homes:  This 2-day workshop will teach you how to evaluate the energy performance of a mobile home.  You will learn about unique energy use problems that make mobile homes high energy users and how to find and correct those problems.  KBSI’s mobile home training facility provides hands-on training using diagnostic tools to identify energy problems.  If you are a weatherization director, inspector, crew member, contractor, HUD housing program operator, or if you are involved in mobile home sales or servicing in any way, this training is designed for you.

Weatherization Training:  (Space is still available…sign up today!)  This 5-day intensive course prepares the weatherization professional to conduct a comprehensive inspection and diagnostic analysis of a house.  The weatherization process, its history and its goals, will be introduced.  You will learn how to deal with material hazards, including lead-based paint, and how to conduct a basic safety and performance diagnostic inspection of a combustion heating system.  You will also gain a sound understanding of building science principles and residential energy use.
