CO – EXPERTS Model 1070 Low-Level CARBON MONOXIDE MONITOR

C O – Experts Low Level C O “Health” Monitor Features ….. NOT offered by any other C O alarm in the World.  [The ONLY C O Detector / Alarm, designed to give you BOTH Audible & Visual Warnings at the “Safety Levels”  established by ACGIH [25ppm], NIOSH [35ppm], and OHSA [50ppm]. [All 8 hr. TWA]. C O – Experts lets you know IMMEDIATELY at 10 PPM, 25 PPM, 35 PPM and 50PPM, and the EXIT IMMEDIATELY WARNING at 70 PPM].

#1. This Low-Level Carbon Monoxide Monitor IS NOT a “Standard”, UL 2034, ULC, or CSA Listed C O Alarm, and IS NOT intended to REPLACE the Installation of such products, if such a CO Alarm is Required by State or Local “By-Laws”. Then also install one or more C O – Experts Model 1070 Low Level C O Monitors to provide the vital protection that you need from Chronic Low Level C O Poisoning.

#2. You may notice that the Instructions in this Manual are quite different.

#3. WARNING: C O Monitors / Alarms ARE NOT Smoke, Fire, or other GAS Detectors, and you do need to obtain additional products designed for your Protection from these Hazards.

#4. This Low-Level C O Monitor is designed to detect Very Low Levels of CARBON MONOXIDE from ANY SOURCE that reaches the Monitor; therefore, it may NOT Detect low-levels of CARBON MONOXIDE found in other areas of the property. You may want to purchase additional Low-Level Monitors for other areas of your home where you spend a Lot of TIME. This Monitor is NOT designed to meet any Present Marine, Aircraft, or other established Standard.

#5. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

- The Power Supply for the CO – Experts Low-Level Monitor is either the ULTRALIFE Lithium U9VL-J, or DURACELL MN1604.

- Battery Installation and Replacement:

- Open the Battery Door and properly install initial battery, or to replace and install a fresh 9 volt battery [ULTRALIFE Lithium U9VL-J, or DURACELL MN1604 Battery] to the battery connection.

- Press the battery reminder finger down and place the battery on top of the reminder finger in the battery compartment and close the battery cover.

WARNING !!! ….. DO NOT use a rechargeable battery.

CAUTION ! …..If the battery “Reminder Arm” is not held down in the battery compartment by the battery, the battery door [cover] will not close and the Alarm will NOT hang on the wall.

Mounting Instructions:

- After selecting the “Proper Mounting Location” as recommended in Sections 6 & 7, to “Wall Mount” your Monitor, you should put the mounting screw into the wall at about “eye-level”, or slightly higher, leaving the screw head about ¼ inch from the wall.

- Hang the Monitor firmly on the wall.

- Next, push the “TEST / RESET” button for 12 seconds.

- The Display will automatically go through the “Data Recall” sequence, followed by a long single Beep, and display "Clr”, indicating that any C O recorded during transport has been “Cleared” from the Data Storage. If your Monitor does not show “Err” and the Green LED flashes once a minute, … you are now being PROTECTED by your Low-Level Monitor.

#6. Where to install your C O Monitor:

- The C O – Experts Low-Level Monitor can be installed in any indoor, “Lived In” area, where it can be visually monitored on a regular basis.

-The First Priority is to protect you as you sleep; therefore, if you purchase only one C O Monitor, you must install it in your bedroom area. It can be Installed on any INSIDE WALL, mounted “Head High’, or slightly higher.

- Additional Low-Level Monitors should be installed in other areas of your home where you spend a lot of time, or in other areas where there are possible sources of C O; however, when doing so, follow the Instructions in Section #7 very closely.

#7. Where NOT to install your C O MONITOR:

- Outdoors, or in ANY unheated area where temperatures may drop below 32°F, or above 100°F, for more than a 24 hours period.

- Within 5 feet of vents, flues, or chimneys.

- Within 5 feet of any combustion appliance, such as ovens, ranges, stoves, fireplaces, furnaces, water heaters, etc.

- Within 5 feet of corners, or any other areas where the free circulation of air may be impeded or prevented.

 In any place where the Monitor may be physically damaged.

Although it rarely occurs, RF from nearby wireless equipment might cause a temporary interference reaction from your C O – Experts Monitor

#8. MAINTENANCE: Cleaning Your Alarm

- You can clean your Monitor by using a vacuum cleaner hose, [soft bristle brush], by vacuuming around the openings on the Monitor, at least once every six months.

- The outside of the Monitor can be wiped with a damp cloth. [Do not use Strong Cleaners or excessive amounts of water].

- After Cleaning, repeat the “Test” procedure described in section on initial Monitor Mounting.

#9. SERVICE and WARRANTY: Important Safety Instructions:

- In the event of any “ERR” in your Monitor, DO NOT TAMPER WITH IT IN ANY WAY, [except disconnecting the battery], DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TAKE THE UNIT APART.  ANY TAMPERING WILL RESULT IN COMPLETE VOIDING OF THE WARRANTY.

- This product MUST be serviced by qualified service personnel.

- This Monitor features a very extensive “Fail - Safe” circuit design, which monitors the entire system, including Sensor Failure. ANY FAILURE in the system will result in an “ERR” Warning appearing on the Monitors Display, a Flash of the LED, and a Single Chirp of the Sounder, once a minute.

- In the event of any ”ERR” warning during warranty period, disconnect the battery and return the unit prepaid, plus PROOF OF PURCHASE RECEIPT AND a check or money order for THIRTEEN dollars to cover return shipping and handling to:

CARBON MONOXIDE SYMPTOMS

Any mix of the following symptoms may be due to C O exposure, Especially if chronic, or if it is noticed by more than one person at the same time:

Headache, Fatigue, Muscle Pain, Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Confusion, Memory Loss, Heart/Chest Pain, Rapid Heart Beat, Rapid Breathing, Shortness of Breath, Changes in Vision, Hearing, Touch, Taste, or Smell.

 

LOW-LEVEL C O MONITORS ARE RECOMMENDED for:

Infants, Young Children, the Elderly, Pregnant Women, and / or, people with Chronic Medical Conditions such as Asthma, Bronchitis, Emphysema, Heart Disease or Anemia. This Low - Level CO Monitor will Display Levels of C O below 30 PPM, [Standard C O Alarms DO NOT], this will help Prevent Exposure to Potentially Dangerous Levels of Carbon Monoxide.

 

DIGITAL DISPLAY RECALL FEATURES:

Prior to Recall, Display will constantly display the Current CO Reading from 10 PPM & Up.

After pushing "Recall / Test" Button, Display will display "Cur" followed by the Current CO Present if 10 PPM or Higher.

Display then displays "HI", followed by the Highest CO in PPM recorded since the last time the Data Storage was Cleared.

Display then displays "OCCUr", followed by the Elapsed Time in Days, Hours & Minutes since Peak Reading Exposure Occurred. Display then displays "dur", followed by the Duration of Time in Days, Hours & Minutes that the CO Exposure stayed within 10% of the "High" Reading.

Display then displays "COHb" followed by the % of Carboxyhemoglobin that would have accumulated in the Blood Stream of the Average Person.

Display then returns to Display the level of CO Present in the Monitor if 10 PPM or more. If C O Present is under 10 PPM, the Display will show "000" PPM.

TO CLEAR the STORED DATA, simply HOLD the TEST BUTTON DOWN CONTINUOUSLY for 12 SECONDS [until you see the "flashing "H", [hours], after you see the "Occur" on the Display Screen], then when the Recall Sequence is Completed, the Monitor will sound a long single "BEEP", and the Display will Show "CLr", indicating that the Stored Data has been CLEARED, and the next time you test your Monitor you will receive NEW stored data from the previous test, to this test.

 

C O – EXPERTS WARNING LEVELS & CYCLES EVERY 5 SECONDS:

0 to 9 PPM ………. No Warnings

10 to 24 PPM ……. 2 Beeps a minute & Constant Visual Warnings

25 to 34 PPM ……. 2 Beeps every 20 seconds

35 to 49 PPM ……. 2 Beeps every 10 seconds

50 to 69 PPM ……. 2 Beeps every 6 seconds

70 PPM & "HI" …. 4 Beeps every 6 seconds

HUSH BUTTON CYCLES

10 PPM … up to 24 hours

25 PPM … up to 60 Minutes

35 PPM … up to 60 Minutes

50 PPM … up to 60 Minutes

70 PPM … up to 4 Minutes

When the "Hush" is employed, the audible alarm is silenced for the designated period of time: however, the visual display continues to show the current level of C O present. IF, after any "Hush", the C O levels present continue to rise to the next higher level, the Monitor will OVER-Ride the "Hush" and reactivate the audible alarm at the higher, faster, level of warning. [Unless, or until, the "Hush" button is pushed again.]

FAILURE WARNINGS:

- Low Battery Warning: Display will show "bAt" , and the Monitor Beeps a single Beep, and the Green L E D flashes once a minute

- Electronic Failure: (Including excessive sensor drift): the Display will show "ERR" , and the Monitor Beeps a single Beep and the RED L E D flashes once a minute.

- At the end of "Life" of the Monitor, the Display will show "SenSOr End", and the Monitor Beeps a single Beep and the RED L E D flashes once a minute.

REPLACEMENT WARNING [End of Life]:

Monitor Display Shows “SenSOr End” , and the Monitor Beeps and Red LED Flashes once a minute.

LIMITED WARRANTY

C O – Experts provides a one year limited warranty on the enclosed C O Monitor. If the purchaser discovers that the unit is defective, she/he must send the C O Monitor prepaid with proof of date of purchase and a check in the amount of thirteen dollars US to cover the cost of return shipping and handling to Warranty Service Dept., C O – EXPERTS, 19299 Katrina Lane, Eldridge, Missouri 65463-9102 U.S.A. Upon receipt of same, the obligation of C O – Experts under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing any parts which it finds under normal care and use, to be defective in material, workmanship or design, and the returning of same to the customer. This warranty shall NOT APPLY to any C O Monitors that have been opened, damaged, modified, abused or altered in any way after the date of purchase, or if it fails to operate due to improper maintenance or inadequate battery power.

THE LIABILITY OF CO-EXPERTS, OR ANY OF ITS PARENT OR SUBSIDIARY CORPORATIONS ARISING FROM THE SALE OF THIS MONITOR OTHER THAN THE COST OF THE REPLACEMENT OF THE MONITOR. IN NO CASE SHALL C O –EXPERTS OR ANY OF ITS PARENT OR SUBSIDIARY CORPORATIONS BE LIABLE FOR CONSEQUENTIAL LOSS OR DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE FAILURE OF THE C O MONITOR OR FOR THE BREACH OF THIS OR ANY OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, EVEN IF THE LOSS OR DAMAGE IS CAUSED BY THE COMPANIES NEGLIGENCE OR FAULT.

Since some States do not allow limitations on the duration of an implied warranty or do not allow the exclusions or limitations of incidental or consequential damages, the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. While this warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also rights that vary from State to State.

The above warranty may not be altered by any agent, representative, dealer or employee.
