WHY IS A C O TASK FORCE NECESSARY ? GREAT QUESTION ! ! !

Why a C O Task Force is necessary

The following REAL LIFE experience of this young, attractive, active, athletic, intelligent, successful young Business woman who relates to all of us her Story of illness, pain, daily suffering and utter mental anxiety and confusion she endured because of badly Flawed C O alarm Standard; as well as the failure to enforce the Building Codes that did exist.

Proving once more, “IF YOU DON’T TEST, YOU DON’T REALLY KNOW.”

Tragic stories like this are exactly what those of us on this C O TASK FORCE are striving to prevent from ever being repeated again.

You have likely heard, “It takes a Village to raise a child”
IT TAKES A community to build a C O Task Force.

A small,  inspired Group of Health and Life Safety minded people  in Colorado Springs, Colorado initially led by ERC, [Energy Resources Center], Pike’s Peak Mechanical Contractor’s Assoc. and the Leadership at IntelliTec College and their new Training Programs on Combustion Analysis Studies introduced by Bob Dywer that inspired the building of their first “C O poisoning Room of Doom” and greatly increased their students and visitors awareness of the serious health and life safety threat present and the Chronic Low Level  C  O Poisoning that was previously being ignored; and quickly gained the attention of some employees visiting from ERC, [Energy Resources Center], in my opinion the most progressive non-profit Energy Conservation and Weatherization Group in the USA.

Bob Dwyer’s C O Training Classes very rapidly gained the interest of other Groups from Pike’s Peak and the Greater Colorado Springs, Area.  Soon our Nation’s First C O Task Force was growing steadily.

Today, they  are now turning their Colorado Springs C O Task Force  into a Public Education and Awareness movement that is not only spreading throughout Colorado, but has already generated interest in the State of Kansas, being led there by the Super Progressive Johnson County Education & Training Group.

I am convinced after spending 62 years in the Health & Life Saving Education, Awareness and Early Warning Detection Industry, that  after seeing the Colorado springs, Colorado Success Story”, every community has many persons ready and willing to donate some time and effort to improving the quality of life for many of our invalids, elderly and seriously ill shut-ins.

Many of our successful programs are being done as our Team members go about their regular jobs or daily endeavors.  A great example of this is our providing a low level C O Monitor to everyone involved in delivering food to the homes of our Shut-ins being provided by the Meals On Wheels Program in the Colorado Springs, Colorado area. By providing a low level C O monitor to each of these free food delivery Angels they are now also able to do a C O “Walk Through” inspection in each home they enter. If they do find a C O poisoning situation present they Immediately Report it to a Service Agency for Prompt Corrective Action.

Obviously, when undertaking an important major Public Safety Education and Awareness Program in a County as large as El Paso County in Colorado it is very important that all of the Public Leaders be informed and educated as to exactly what type of program you are undertaking within their territory. As an important step in this process Bob Dwyer made an introduction / Awareness Presentation to the El Paso County Commissioners in December, 2014.
